CSUSA Renaissance Charter of Manatee

The $9.5 million, 64,146 square foot educational building in Bradenton, Florida required an aggressive schedule for completion prior to the upcoming school year.

Why was Tilt-Up selected for the project?
Tilt-up provided the ideal solution to meet the schedule requirements. The eight-week duration from start to completed shell included installation of the roofing system that provided for a fully dry structure. This allowed enough time for the construction manager to complete the building finishes.

All panels were cast outside of the building’s footprint while the foundations and floor slabs were installed, enabling all the tilt-up panels to be erected within a three and a half week period from the project’s start. Despite all panels being carried by crane from the casting area to their final location, the erection process for all panels was completed in just two days.

For this project, tilt-up construction provided an economical alternative to thin brick. To give the appearance of brick on the exterior, a form liner was used to create the look of a brick veneer with revealed borders to frame out the areas accentuating the overall look. Tilt-up construction was also used to construct the dumpster enclosure, with a solid brick form liner to match the architectural characteristics of the building.
